Il Mostro was our first ever VOR70 project, designed in 2007 to compete in the 2008-09 Volvo Ocean Race. It was built by a joint collaboration between Goetz Boats and Customline Yachts in Bristol R.I. The composite engineering was carried out by SP/Gurit. The build project management was held by Bob Wylie and with the overall supervision of skipper Ken Read and general team manager Kimo Worthington. The paint scheme on this boat was striking and avant-garde, and set a new benchmark for future racing projects.
